7: Casey Cizikas has a career year

The last time Casey Cizikas played with Cal Clutterbuck and Matt Martin, Casey had his best season in the NHL. He finished that year with 29 points in 80 games. He hasn’t been able to eclipse that point total since.

Now, with the return of his good buddy Matt Martin, he’ll be able to recreate the success he had three years ago.

Injuries have plagued Cizikas over the past two years. In 2016-2017 he played just 59 games, and then he followed that up with 64 last year. He hasn’t been healthy which is why I think he’s due for a much better year.

I know Cal Clutterbuck and Matt Martin aren’t exactly great point getters but I think Cizikas hits the 30 point plateau this year. If he stayed healthy in 2016-2017 he probably does it, and last year was just a complete mess for the bottom six.

Casey, despite the bad contract, is a productive fourth line player. He’ll show why this was once known as the “Best Fourth Line In Hockey”.
