New York Islanders: 25 Bold Predictions For 2018-2019 Season

5: Andrew Ladd plays less than 60 games
What a disappointment Andrew Ladd has been for the New York Islanders. Since being brought over Ladd has combined for 60 points in two years. The unfortunate part is Andrew Ladd has five (5) years left on his contract at $5.5 million per year.
Everyone knew that the last three years or so of the deal would be pretty rough. What we didn’t know was that Andrew Ladd would never give the Islanders any form of production.
A 29 point season is downright atrocious. Ladd, while spending a solid chunk of the year with Mathew Barzal and Jordan Eberle was ineffective for the Islanders. I’m fairly certain you could put anybody off the street with those two and they’d put up more points than Ladd.
Now, his body seems to be breaking down too on top of it. He didn’t play in a preseason game for the Islanders and he’s also missed a majority of the practices too.
Injuries are going to start to set in, even more so than they already have. There’s no way he sniffs 60 games, especially if he starts the year on IR. That’s another $5.5 million down the toilet in 2018-2019.
