New York Islanders: 25 Bold Predictions For 2018-2019 Season

2: The Islanders will sweep the season series vs NYR
Over the last four years, the New York Islanders have flat out owned the New York Rangers. The Islanders are 14-3 against them over this time and the last time the Isles lost to the Rangers President Obama still lived in the White House.
Last year, despite the Islanders, struggles the Isles swept the Rangers in the season series. I predict that the first time in their history they sweep the Rangers in back to back years.
This year it seems like the only Metro team that’s in worse shape than the Islanders is the New York Rangers. Unfortunately, Ranger killer Jaroslav Halak is no longer on the team but between Ryan Pulock and Mathew Barzal, I think they’ll be just fine.
A few years ago it looked like these two teams could meet in the playoffs, now that seems like a distant dream.
Both New York teams are in a multi-year rebuilding process and the state of hockey in New York looks dim for 2018. But, sweeping the Rangers will give Islanders fans just a bit of pride as they talk around the water cooler about their favorite team.
