New York Islanders Prospects Report 1.0: Eyes On The Future

AHL
Forwards
Michael Dal Colle | GP: 6 Pts: 8
After a terrible year in 2017-18 Michael Dal Colle has bounced back big time. Through the Sound Tigers first six games of the season Dal Colle is averaging over a point per game.
He knows there will be places on the Islanders roster next season, and the fifth overall pick from 2014 knows he needs to impress now. Combine the fact that he’s in the final year of his entry-level contract and you can see that the pressure is on for Dal Colle.
Gladly, he seems to be harnessing that pressure.
Defensemen
Devon Toews | GP: 6 Pts: 5
There’s no doubt that Devon Toews was going to be the standout defensemen for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers this season. For the last two seasons, Toews has been exactly that. It’s why we all thought he could have made the New York Islanders roster this season.
At the rate that Toews is producing in the AHL, you’d have to imagine that he’ll be on the Isles roster sooner rather than later.
