Players to Watch

New Jersey Devils

Kyle Palmieri | Right-Wing

Palmieri has been on fire recently. Over ten games he already has nine goals and five helpers. Over his last five games, Kyle Palmieri has six points. Again, he’s on fire. His 27.3 percent shooting percentage should make that very clear.

Miles Wood | Left-Wing

Unlike Palmieri, Miles Wood isn’t necessarily a goal threat. He can still score, he has five points in ten games this season. But he’s just the type of player that always seems to get under the skin of Islanders players. He’s exactly the type of guy that might get the Islanders in penalty trouble.

Watch him, he’ll likely do something to annoy the Islanders on the ice.

New York Islanders

Josh Bailey | Right-Wing

Josh Bailey is working on an incredible point streak right now. Josh Bailey has scored at least a point in his last seven games. With 13 points in 12 games, Bailey is on pace for 89 points. That would be a third career year for the winger. Hopefully, he can continue that point streak tonight and work towards that third career year.

All of this and John Tavares is nowhere to be found. This fills me with unimaginable happiness for Josh Bailey. For years the Islanders searched for that elite winger to play beside Tavares. Turns out he was there all along. He just needed the right opportunity to grow into the role.

Ryan Pulock | Defenseman

The second-year blueliner is still sorting himself out as the Islanders top defenseman. Over his last five games, he’s shown steady improvements in the position. He’s added points to his games, and more importantly, he’s been able to help his team keep the goals out of their net.
