New York Islanders Daily: Anders Lee Continues Scoring Streak

The New York Islanders have been struggling to score consistently, but Anders Lee is the outlier going four games in a row with a goal.
In the last two games, the New York Islanders have just three goals and their goalless streak on the power play can go back nine games. To put it lightly, the Islanders are struggling to find the back of the net.
The exception to this rule is Anders Lee. At a time when he’s needed the most, the Captain is scoring like it’s going out of style.
Over the last four games, Lee has a goal in each contest. Lee now has 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) in 27 games played. If you average that out over a full NHL season Lee’s on pace for 67 points and 33 goals.
Yes, it would be a step back from 40 but to expect Lee to be able to net 40 goals in back to back seasons is a bit crazy. As long as he eclipses the 30 goal mark the Islanders should be in good shape long term.
This is just what Anders Lee does. When he gets hot there’s almost no one better than him at getting in front of the net and being able to either redirect a puck in or put a rebound home with ease.
Lee is also halfway to his career high in assists just 27 games into the season. He’s on pace for a career high in assists and points if he keeps this up. Anders Lee is doing just fine, while the rest of the top-six is struggling.
