New York Islanders Three Moves That Need to Happen Today

Beau With Filppula and Komarov
Since joining Mathew Barzal and Josh Bailey/Jordan Eberle on the second line Anthony Beauvillier has been relatively quiet. Since going on a tear and scoring seven points in five games Beau has slowed down. In his preceding five games he has a single point.
He was always going to slow down. No one should have expected Anthony Beauvillier to score at a point per game pace the entire season. But since moving off of a line with Valtteri Filppula and Leo Komarov, Beauvillier hasn’t been the same player.
If the Isles are going to bring up Josh Ho-Sang (as I believe they should) they’ll need to make room in the top six. Tom Kuhnhackl will inevitably have to make room and head back to the AHL leaving a spot next to Filppula and Komarov. That’s where Beau needs to go.
In a top-six role, we aren’t seeing Anthony Beauvillier play between the dots. He’s often drifting out wide to play along the board. That isn’t his bread and butter. We’ve seen what playing between the dots does for Beauvillier. Playing with Filppula and Komarov would allow him to do that.
With that being said here is my lineup for forwards (assuming everyone is healthy):
Lee-Barzal-Eberle
Bailey-Nelson-Ho-Sang
Beauvillier-Filppula-Komarov
Martin-Cizikas-Clutterbuck

The New York Islanders need a shakeup. Bringing up Josh Ho-Sang and Devon Toews while putting Beauvillier where he was successful will do that. I don’t expect the Islanders to enact all of these (though that would be nice), but at least one would be a good start.
