The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 70 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.
The New York Islanders are playing hot right now, with three wins in a row they’re firing on all cylinders. With that in mind, Mitch and I return for our 70th episode of the Eyes on Isles podcast.
A large part of the Isles success can go to how hot Anthony Beauvillier has been playing. He has 10 goals in his last 16 games after only having one in his first 16. In addition to that, we’ll chat about the Isles goalie position and the future at the position.
So far in 2018, the Isles have played three games at the Coliseum and they’re all been sellouts. Their home ice advantage has finally returned. Lastly, the Isles power play finally scored on 5-on-4.
Here’s what to expect from episode 70:
We’ll get into Ilya Sorokin’s success in the KHL, his crazy save, and the Islanders future at the position. Will Sorokin ever come over or will it have to be a big name free agent acquisition?
Beauvllier scoring a ton
Anthony Beauvillier has 11 goals on the season. It didn’t start off that great for him but he’s really turned on the jets a ton over the last few weeks.
The Islanders have played three games at the Nassau Coliseum and they’ve all been sellouts. It was never about fans not caring, it was about the Barclays Center.
Power Play Scored
The Islanders power play finally was able to score on the power play, on five-on-four. Will they be able to keep it above water or now will it crumble again?
