Team: Ottawa Senators

RW Depth Chart: Mark Stone, Bobby Ryan
Why them?

The Ottawa Senators have little help on the right side. Mark Stone is a great option from the right side. He’s been a point per game player for two seasons now. I’ve been pinning over getting him as a free agent for a while now.

but after him is Bobby Ryan on the Senators depth chart. And while Bobby Ryan is paid like a player that should be piling in the points, his best season in an Ottawa sweater is 56 points in 2015-16. His cap hit; $7.25 million over the next four seasons.

The only issue for the Ottawa Senators

Who Do We Want: Matt Duchene

Mark Stone is ideally the player I’d like to bring to the Islanders in Jordan Eberle’s wake, but with his link to the Senators and with Matt Duchene also on the trade block it’s hard to see them letting Stone go.

Matt Duchene is having a career year in Ottawa. With 18 goals and 24 assists for 42 points in 37 games, he’s on pace for 83 points. His career high is 71 points from 2013-14. At 28-years-old, the center is hitting his prime.

The Islanders could use a player of his talent down the middle after Mathew Barzal and before Brock Nelson and Casey Cizikas.
