New York Islanders Four Destinations for Jordan Eberle

Team: Carolina Hurricanes
RW Depth Chart: Justin Williams, Andrei Svechnikov
Why them?
The Carolina Hurricanes are on pace to miss the playoffs for the tenth straight season. They need to make some moves to address this as soon as possible.
They’ve been good defensively, only allowing 127 goals against. That’s the tenth lowest in the NHL. But they haven’t been anywhere that good offensively. They rank 28th in the league in terms of goals for with 117.
Looking at their depth chart on the right side, they’ll need help, and soon. Captain Justin Williams is on the last year of his deal and maybe this might just be his last year, though he hasn’t hinted at the possibility of retiring. Either way with 26 points in 44 games, he isn’t bringing the offense.
Bringing in Jordan Eberle who can be a 50-70 point player make sense. Put him on a line with Sebastian Aho at center and Teuvo Terravainen on the left and that’s a top line with serious scoring flair.
Who Do We Want: Dougie Hamilton
With four right-handed defensemen, the Hurricanes have a surplus on the right side. What they need is scoring. Making a deal that involves Hamilton going one way and Eberle going the other way makes sense.
The Carolina Hurricanes might already be shopping the right shot and former 18-goal scoring blueliner. He’s a clear upgrade for the Islanders defensive right side. But trading between divisional rivals isn’t always easy.

At the moment Carolina is only five points back of the Islanders. Perhaps by the trade deadline, that gap has been extended, making a trade for Hamilton easier to digest from the Hurricanes perspective.
