Three Stars

1. . 1 Incredible Assist. . Mathew Barzal

I’ve already gushed about that assist Barzal “picked up” on the Lee goal. While Lee earned the first star at the game, but Mathew Barzal did everything on that play.

Lee still had to get it in the net, but Mathew Barzal set it up so well for him that it was almost impossible to screw up.

Throughout the night Mathew Barzal was buzzing around the Montreal Canadiens zone creating plays. He’ll take a bit to figure out where Anders Lee likes to get the puck, and once he does, look out.

2. . 38 Saves. . Carey Price

Carey Price played one heck of a game. At one point I remarked that he looked like the Carey Price from 2014-15. The same Price that won the Hart, Vezina, Jennings, and Pearson trophies.

He was calm between the pipes and was able to get his angles and just see the puck well throughout.

It was going to take some extraordinary to beat Carey Price. Mathew Barzal delivered.

1 Goal, 5 Shots. . Adam Pelech. 3.

Good for Adam Pelech to get on the score sheet. That was his fifth goal of the season putting him tied for second in scoring for defensemen on the team.

Adam Pelech has been starting to play some great and consistent hockey of late. At the start of the season, Adam Pelech was a player that didn’t seem to belong on the same ice as everyone else.

Now he seems like a solid top four defensemen in the NHL.
