Highlight of the Afternoon

Going into the game Josh Bailey hadn’t scored in twelve games or picked up a point in eight games. Forcing him to play on the third line with Tanner Fritz and Leo Komarov.

He hasn’t been giving the New York Islanders much of late. Which is why Eyes On Isles own Matt O’Leary wrote that the Isles needed more from number 12.

And this afternoon against the Philadelphia Flyers he gave the Islanders exactly what they needed.

With the game tied a two late in the third period, both teams were looking to play for the single point. Just take the point and bring it to overtime. Josh Bailey had other plans as he picks up a pass from Brock Nelson at the Flyers blue line.

Breaking into the zone Bailey finds himself in position to get a shot on net and rips one over Carter Hart’s shoulder and into the top corner for the game-winning goal.

(He’d add one minute and a half later to kill the game.)

Hopefully, Josh Bailey is back to putting up points as the Islanders look to close out the season strong.
