Jamaica has produced a lone skater that has played for the Islanders in the organization’s history.
Graeme Townshend, RW
Townshend did not play too much during his two seasons with the Isles, playing in just 9 games. It is not surprising, as he was not too productive, putting up just three points.
Over the course of Islanders history, just a single Italian skater has played for the team.
Luca Sbisa, D
As of right now, Sbisa is in his first season with the Isles. He has only played in nine games, contributing one assist so far this season. Although he was born in Italy, he plays for the Swiss national team because he moved to Switzerland at such a young age.
Kazakhstan is the only country to produce just a goalie and nothing else for the Islanders.
In three seasons with the Islanders, Nabokov played in 123 games and started in 121 of them. Nabokov would rack up 57 wins and nine shutouts. During his time with the team, he would sport a decent save percentage of .910 and superb goals against average of 2.59.
