Robin Lehner/Thomas Greiss

I grouped both goalies together because they’ve both been amazing and are equally deserving of recognition. Robin Lehner was not offered a contract by Buffalo so the Islanders were able to get him on a cheap one-year deal.

After another splendid performance, his save percentage is up to .928 with a 2.19 goals against average. He’s tied for second in terms of save percentage and is in third for goals against average. It’s been a bounce-back year for Lehner after struggling both on and off the ice last season.

Then there’s Thomas Greiss, who you could argue was the worst goalie in the league last year. He had a .892 save percentage and a 3.82 goals against average. He was essentially unusable down the stretch last year.

This year couldn’t have been any different. He’s improved his save percentage to a .926 (tied for third) and his goals against average to a 2.31 (5th in the league). The play in net from these two is one of the biggest reasons the Isles find themselves in a playoff spot this year.
