Dennis Seidenberg, D

Turning 38 years old in July, Seidenberg is the oldest pending free agent for the Isles. Seidenberg did not play a game for the Islanders this season, nor did he play a game in Bridgeport. Instead, he practiced with Isles for most of the season on a professional tryout (PTO) and then signed a one-year contract worth $700,000 when the rosters were expanded at the trade deadline.

Seidenberg has been on the Isles since the 2016-17 season, at first playing in the lineup regularly and then transitioning into a depth role in 2017-18.

If the Islanders were to re-sign Seidenberg, it would most likely be the same as this season. He would practice with the team on a PTO for most of the season and then sign a one-year deal for around $700,000.

Luca Sbisa, D

Plain and simple, Sbisa (29 years old) was not worth his $1.5 million cap hit this season. Sbisa barely played because of how little he offers to the team. In the nine games that he played in, Sbisa produced one assist and posted a neutral +/- on the team that allowed the least number of goals in the league.

Sbisa was about as useless as Seidenberg, considering they nearly had the same amount of points and had the same +/-. After saying this, it is very unlikely that the Isles re-sign Sbisa, and if they do it will be a one-year deal worth around the same as Seidenberg.
