The trade rumor season is upon us. How can the New York Islanders take advantage of some of the rumors put out there this past week?

The idea is simple with this series of posts, what trade rumor over the last week should interest the New York Islanders, and how might they make that trade happen?

For weeks I’ve been waiting for the trade rumor mill to get started. Turns out we didn’t need the Stanley Cup playoffs to come to an end for that to happen. We needed Darren Dreger to come back from the World Championships to get it going.

The second he got back Dregger dropped the Mitch Marner news that captivated the hockey world for 48 to 72 hours. The Leafs winger is looking to get paid and is willing to go the offer sheet route to get it.

It’s exactly the type of rumor that was needed to get everything going. And it did. A week later, rumors are starting to fly.

The Islanders are going to need help down the right-flank in 2019-20, here are two players that could be available int he trade market for the Isles.
