Philadelphia Flyers

Ins: J-F Berube
Outs: Cam Talbot

It’s a backup goalie swap…sorta. The Flyers still have Brian Elliott, Carter Hart, and Alex Lyon under contract between the crease. You got to feel for former New York Islanders goalie J-F Berube, he just can’t find a home that doesn’t already have a crowded crease.

Cam Talbot can be a good goalie. He’s only a few years removed from a 2.39GAA and 0.919SV% in 73 games played for the Edmonton Oilers. But the future between the crease is clear for the Philadelphia Flyers.

Carter Hart is going to be the starter for years to come. With a 2.83GAA and 0.917SV% in his rookie season, Hart looks the part.

After locking up Kevin Hayes before free agency began, the Flyers didn’t need to do much in free agency anyways.

Letting Cam Talbot go and bringing in J-F Berube is about as ‘meh’ as you can get in free agency. Again, Talbot can be a good goalie, but the Flyers already have a capable duo in Brian Elliott and Carter Hart.

They won’t just keep a third goalie on the roster for…reasons. They aren’t run by Garth Snow.
