Number 10: Linus Soderstrom (Goalie | Age: 22)

The Islanders selected Linus Soderstrom in the fourth round of the 2014 Draft. Since then, he continued his career in Sweeden before coming over to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers last year. The only problem was that he was hurt.

He missed the entire 2018-2019 season due to injury but will be fully healthy before the start of the season. At six-foot-four and 196 pounds, he has the big frame which is understandably why he is intriguing. He just has to stay healthy and prove he can handle the workload in the AHL.

Number 9: Ruslan Iskhakov (Center | Age: 19)

After suffering a scary injury early in the season last year, Iskhakov came back strong and finished with a solid first season in the NCAA. In 32 games he finished with 21 points (6 goals, 15 assists). He will head back to UCONN this year with the hope of growing his game.

At five-foot-eight and 152 pounds he’s on the smaller side, but we’ve learned over the past few years that smalled guys can work in today’s NHL, it just might take time.
