Number 2: Ilya Sorokin (Goalie | Age: 23)

The dance with Ilya Sorokin has been a fun one, but it appears it’s finally coming to an end. After this year the Russian star’s KHL contract expires. Meaning he will have the opportunity to join the Islanders, finally.

Last year he put up a ridiculous .940 save percentage and a 1.16 goals against average. We’ve heard about this guy for a long time, but he will be seen in blue in orange just next year with his buddy Semyon Varlamov.

Number 1: Noah Dobson (Defense | Age: 19)

Is there any question here? Dobson is the most NHL ready prospect in the Islanders system and he will have a legit shot to crack the roster in September. In the QMJHL last year he had 52 points in 56 games and was even better in the playoffs.

He’s a two-time Memorial Cup winner and the textbook definition of a two-way defenseman. He will likely force the Isles into making room for him in a few months, he’s that talented.
