New York Islanders Three Reasons Noah Dobson Makes 2019-20 Team

He’s Better Than Others On The Roster
Noah Dobson has everything going for him. He can put up points with the best of them but is also positionally sound and strong in his own end. Dobson is a mature, savvy, and skilled young defenseman.
He’s got all the tools and talent to excel at the NHL level. His ceiling is about as high, if not higher than the player he molds his game after; Alex Pietrangelo.
Across eight NHL season, not counting the lockout year, Pietrangelo has scored 40 or more points on seven occasions and has averaged a 52.5 CF%.
The Islanders don’t have a defenseman that projects to fit that mold.
Devon Toews is a great talent, but his skill set skews more towards the offensive side of the game. The same goes for Ryan Pulock. Noah Dobson, on the other hand, blends both aspects of being a top-level defender in the modern era.
Every championship-caliber team needs a player like Noah Dobson in their ranks. The Islanders, of course, don’t have one on the roster just yet.
Dobson won’t be that player the second he hits the ice in the NHL, but for a player like Noah Dobson, it won’t take long for him to figure it out.
