The New York Islanders are getting ready to begin their 2019-2020  season. The calendar has turned to September which means we are less than a month away from meaningful hockey!

Tonight the NFL kicks off its 100th season. It leaves many folks excited, but it also means one thing, we are closer to New York Islanders hockey. The 2019-20 hockey season is almost upon us.

Training camp is getting set to begin. Better yet, the New York Islanders will be playing games in under two weeks. The Isles begin their preseason schedule against the Philadelphia Flyers on September 16 and wrap it up on September 28 against the New York Rangers.

And then the 2019-20 regular season will begin.

After the up-and-down free agency window, the New York Islanders re-signed their three RFAs (Anthony Beauvillier, Michael Dal Colle, and Joshua Ho-Sang) and brought in center Derick Brassard. It’s been a long few months for Islanders fans.

But October 4 is opening night, as the Isles will host the Washington Capitals at NYCB Live. It’s a night many fans have circled on their calendars, and it’s finally less than a month away! The Islanders first three games will be at home (with the other two being played at the Barclay’s Center). The Islanders first road game will be a playoff rematch in Carolina.

Ease the Wait

Video game fans will be able to get their hockey fix on September 13. That is when EA Sports will release their newest edition of the NHL series. The NHL video games are always a good appetizer for the upcoming season.

Next. Islanders Training Camp Battles

After the Islanders success last season, this season is met with some nervous excitement. Though there’s less than a month until Opening Night, training camp battles will be something to watch to see how the final roster shakes up.
