New York Islanders Josh Ho-Sang Aware and Confident

New York Islanders Josh Ho-Sang is at the right place to get a roster spot this season. He’s aware he’s got something to prove but confident that he can.
Josh Ho-Sang is at a crossroads in his career with the New York Islanders. He’s been in the system for five years now and has only featured briefly for the club. This year is his year to make the jump into the NHL.
The Islanders have space in their top nine for a right-handed playmaker. But he’s going to have to earn a spot on the roster. It won’t be just handed to him.
He’s had years to show his quality and earn himself a spot. What makes this year different?
Talking Talk, Again
For starters, he’s talking the talk when it comes to his specific predicament. He knows he’s going to have to show he deserves a spot. But he’s also not caging his confidence in his abilities.
Josh Ho-Sang is in the house. On whether there’s an opportunity to earn a spot here: “It’s up to me to create and them to give me a chance.”

Asked about last season: “I was up for 10 games. We went 9-1. I think I helped.”
He’s simultaneously saying he’s got to earn it while also stating that he’s got what it takes to be the player the Islanders need.
In those ten games that Josh Ho-Sand played last season, he scored two points, only had six giveaways, had ten shots on goal. And yes, the Islanders went 9-1 in those ten games.
It’s exactly what I want to hear from Josh Ho-Sang as he gears up for camp. He’s grounded enough to know that he’s still got to prove something to the Islanders. But still has that confidence to know he’s got what it takes to make the team this season.

I can’t wait for him to prove it during training camp.
