#2: Outline Removed From Names

In 1984, the Isles removed the orange outline from the names on their jerseys. Honestly, I like look as the jersey looks a little sleeker.

Not only do I like the look, but the organization also had to like the look because these jerseys are the longest lasting Islanders jerseys of their history. These jerseys lasted an astounding 11 years and then were replaced by the fisherman jerseys *eye roll*.

Due to the fact that these jerseys lasted 11 years and are the longest-lasting jerseys in Islanders history, they come in at #2.

#1: The Cup Years

From 1978 until 1984, the Islanders wore the same jerseys. This jersey saw the Isles win four straight Stanley Cups and deserves to be seen as legendary.

These jerseys added white back to the jersey’s sleeves, after its predecessor removed it, with the addition of a white stripe on top of the orange stripe.

That was not the only change from the previous jersey to this one. This jersey made the bottom edge of the jersey orange instead of white and put a white stripe on top of the orange edge.

Overall, these jerseys aren’t anything special but because they were worn when the Islanders won four straight Stanley Cups gives them so much history and makes them legendary, which also makes them #1 in my eyes.
