Islanders Three Stars

Josh Bailey | 1G, 1A

This was not a game for the Josh Bailey haters. The Islanders ninth overall pick from 2008 had himself a night tonight with a goal and an assist.

Bailey had yet another good season in 2018-19 with 56 points. With two points in his first two games, Bailey is again proving that he’s always been a top-six player.

Also, the goal he scored tonight was on the power play. Bailey had two goals on the power play in the entirety of the 2018-19 season. And, more importantly, the Isles power play is now at a 50 percent efficiency so far in this young season.

Anthony Beauvillier | 1G, 1A

Anthony Beauvillier already has three points on the season. He didn’t hit three points in 2018-19 until that hat-trick against the Rangers. That was in game number 17.

With a goal and an assist, Beau is the exact opposite of what he was in 2018-19. Long may that continue for him.

At the rate he’s producing, Beau should be on the Islanders second line over Michael Dal Colle.

Thomas Greiss | 35 Saves, 0.972SV%

Another classic Thomas Greiss performance. Greiss is easily the most underrated goalie in the NHL at the moment. With 35 saves tonight he posted a 0.972SV%.

Looks like last years 0.927SV% wasn’t a fluke for the German netminder.
