Anthony Beauvillier

Age: 22 years, 130 days

Unlike the previous two players, Beauvillier isn’t a prospect at this stage of his career. He’s a young NHL’er, and over his three seasons, he’s seen his share of up’s and down’s, including his demotion to AHL Bridgeport during the 2017-18 season from hell. (Which he returned from with a very promising finish to the year)

Beauvillier has proven to be a tricky puzzle for the Islanders to solve. His general lack of consistency can be troubling, but there’s no doubt when he’s rolling and clicking with his linemates he’s one of the premier youngsters showcased in the New York Islanders’ lineup.

He showed the most promise in 2017-18 after his aforementioned recall from Bridgeport, where he was saddled up with Mathew Barzal and Jordan Eberle. That, in my opinion, will be a key to Beau’s development going forward. Barry Trotz and the rest of the Isles staff must find consistent linemates for the 22-year-old Québécois.

He’s had a great start to the young season, too. Beau has 4 points (2G, 2A) thus far, mostly while teamed with newcomer Derrick Brassard and bottom-six staple, Leo Komarov. Though recently fellow youngster Michael Dal Colle has seen time with Beau and Brass, as Leo has moved to the 4C role with Casey Cizikas injured. With Trotz shuffling the forward lines recently in search of offense, hopefully, the team will find him some long-term linemates that Beau can build some synergy with.
