It’s the first road trip of the season for the New York Islanders. Hopefully, their luck keeps up in Winnipeg and they win three in a row.

After back-to-back losses, the New York Islanders are hitting the road with back-to-back wins. Thankfully, for the Islanders, they take on the Jets at the right time. The Jets have posted back-to-back losses as the Islanders come to town.

Since picking up three straight wins after the Islanders beat them on Long Island, the Winnipeg Jets have dropped games against the Pittsburgh Penguins and Arizona Coyotes by a combined score of 11-4.

Their weakened defense has now been compiled by a weakened offensive line with Bryan Little being kept off the team as a precaution. This all bodes well for a New York Islanders team that has been dominant in Manitoba. Since becoming the Winnipeg Jets, again, the Islanders are 8-1-1.

New York Islanders Possible Lineup

Forwards

Lee-Barzal-Kuhnhackl
Beauvillier-Nelson-Dal Colle
Bailey-Brassard-Wahlstrom
Johnston-Komarov-Clutterbuck

Defense

Pelech-Pulock
Toews-Mayfield
Leddy-Boychuk

Goalie

Varlamov (Greiss)

Topline Tom! The Islanders weakness up top is on full display with this possible lineup. Neither Tom Kuhnhackl and Michael Dal Colle should be in the top six, but here they are. The longer Oliver Wahlstrom is on the roster, the closer he gets to taking one of those spots.

Winnipeg Jets Possible Lineup

Forwards

Laine-Scheifele-Wheeler
Connor-Copp-Ehlers
Perreault-Lowry-Roslovic
Bourque-Gustafsson-Appleton

Defense

Morrissey-Poolman
Dahlstrom-Pionk
Heinola-Kulikov

Goalie

Hellebuyck (Brossoit)

This team might be weakened but it’s still a strong team. Up top the Jets still have their five incredible scoring forwards. Through eight games the Jets five forwards have a combined 41 points. Patrik Laine and Mark Scheifele have a combined 24 points.

The Jets might be weakened, but they’re still dangerous.
