Islanders Three Stars of the Week: Anthony Beauvillier is on Fire

First Star: Anthony Beauvillier
Stats: 4 Goals, 10 SOG
Before scoring against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Anthony Beauvillier hadn’t scored a goal since October 8. Beau had four helpers in that span, but the goals weren’t coming.
But even when Beau wasn’t putting them in the net he was one of the Isles better players on most nights. His engagement and work on and off the puck were noticeable. The goals would come.
The goal-scoring flood gates opened this week for Beauvillier. He has a pair of goals in each of the Islanders two games this week. Bringing his total on the year to six. Along with his six helpers, Beauvillier is on pace for 27 goals and 55 points.
Beauvillier has been a totally different player this season than in his previous three years with the organization. In previous seasons, when Beau wasn’t scoring he wasn’t noticeable. Like last season when Beau was invisible for the majority of the Islanders first 18 games.
Through 18 games in 2018-19, Beauvillier had four goals and six points. Including four points against the Rangers in game number 17. He’s doubled his production this year.
Unlike last season, when Beau was a passenger for the Islanders he’s very much a driver on one of the best teams in the NHL.
