Islanders: Keeping up on NHL Trade Rumors – Tyson Barrie on the Block

What players are out there on the trade block this week in the NHL? And could they be of any interest to the Islanders?
Last week I started a weekly feature looking at players that were on the NHL trade block. The intent is to look at who’s available so when the Islanders need to dip their toes in the trade market we’ve got a good idea of what’s out there.
Of course, now isn’t the time for a trade. The Islanders are yet again on a winning streak. Everything is going well right now with a 14-0-1 record over their last 15 games. Now isn’t the time to make a trade.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t take a look around to see who’s being put in the shop window. Just because you’re looking doesn’t mean you’re going to buy.
It’s just market research. I’ve had my eye on a new camera for some time now. But I’m going to wait until the price drops or when I find the right one at the right price. The one I currently have does everything I need and is perfectly fine. But I know there are better ones out there.
The Islanders are in the same situation. Winning has given them the luxury of waiting. They don’t have to rush into a trade to help their team. They’re already one of the best teams in the league.
For now, they can take their time, take stock of what’s out there and get a deal done on their terms.
