On Thursday the New York Islanders established their longest point streak in franchise history at 16 games. What did we learn from the streak?

The obvious lesson to learn in the New York Islanders 16 game point streak is simple; they’re a good team. If you or someone you know is sleeping on the Islanders you or they need to wake up. Barry Trotz and his boys are for real.

With 31 points from a possible 32 during the 16 game streak, the Islanders are at the top of the league. With all those points in the bank already, it’s pretty easy to imagine that the Islanders will return to the playoffs in back-to-back season.

Yes, it’s possible that the wheels could fall off at any point. But it’s hard to see that happening with the way the Islanders have been playing of late.

But there’s more than the obvious to learn from the Islanders streak that the fact that they’re a good team. Cause again, that’s obvious. Here’s five things I learned from the Islanders point streak.
