The New York Islanders captain, Anders Lee, has gotten off to a slow start with goals. He’s not too worried about it though.

For the first time in the franchise’s history, the New York Islanders are on a 17 game point streak. Over the point streak, the Islanders have relied heavily on the Brock Nelson, Anthony Beauvillier, and Derick Brassard line, also known as the Air BNB line, for scoring.

Guys like Jordan Eberle and Anders Lee have gone a little cold, but it hasn’t been talked about as much because the team keeps winning. For Lee, he isn’t too concerned about the scoring.

Lee told the Athletic (subscription required) that the scoring will come and there’s more ways than one to contribute to your hockey team. Through 21 games, Lee has five goals which is a pace of just 20 goals on the season.

Is Lee going to finish with 20 goals? I’d assume no, and in years gone by, he’s gone through streaks before. Lee is known for scoring touches in the second half of seasons, just look at 2016-2017.

There will be a multi-goal game that will get his pace up, and by the end of the year he’ll likely find himself between 25-30 goals. If the Isles continue to get the production elsewhere, they’ll be just fine without a 40 goal Lee.
