Anthony Beauvillier

Stats: 2 Goals, 2 Assists

He was the first star of the week last week, and now he’s back again as the team’s second star. Last week he put up four goals, now he’s evened things out with a 50/50 distribution between goals and assists with two apiece.

In the first game against Pittsburgh, Beau scored the Isles first goal, his seventh of the season. Then he’d get the only assist on Brock Nelson’s overtime winner.

Two days later he was back at it. Halfway through the second period, Beau scored the first of two power-play goals on the night for the Islanders. He’d get the primary assist on Brock Nelson’s third-period power-play goal to put the Islanders ahead 3-2.

All told, Beauvillier now has eight goals and eight assists on the season. Putting him on pace for 31 goals and 62 points.

Just like Brock Nelson, all I can think about is where we are now with Beauvillier and where we came from.

Just like Brock, Beau had issues with consistency. Even last season Beau had a hard time stringing together performances. If he wasn’t on the score sheet he was damn near invisible.

Not this season. Now, not only is he scoring at a 60 point pace, but he’s also stronger on pucks and more involved in the play when off the puck.
