Three bold predictions for the New York Islanders series against the Washington Capitals.

After eliminating the Florida Panthers in the qualifying round, the New York Islanders now turn their sights on the Washington Capitals, A team they haven’t seen in the postseason since 2015 when the Caps eliminated the Isles in seven games.

That series was tight with three of Capitals wins in that series were decided by a single goal. That series also featured the origin story of Isles fan’s hatred for Tom Wilson. Wilson was an issue before this series, but thanks to this vicious hit against Isles defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky he became Isles fans public enemy number one.

Fans still haven’t forgotten about Tom Wilson’s hit some five years later.

Since that 2015 series, the Capitals silenced their critics and won their first Stanley Cup with Barry Trotz behind the bench. The next season Trotz made the leap to the Islanders where he’s defied expectations and pushed the Isles to back-to-back playoff appearances.

As we get ready for puck drop on Wednesday at 3 PM. Here are a few bold predictions for the best-of-seven series between these two divisional rivals.
