Islanders: Predictions For The 2021 Season

The New York Islanders are set to begin their 2021 season in just two days. Here’s what you can expect from them this year.
We are now two days away from puck drop on the 2021 season for the New York Islanders. Games start as early as tomorrow, so I figured why not get all the predictions out of the way now to get ourselves ready for the 2021 campaign.
After a surprise trip to the Eastern Conference Final in 2020, the Islanders have high hopes going into this season with a very similar roster. The biggest change, Devon Toews was traded during the offseason.
Toews was moved for two second-round picks, in an attempt to clear cap and gain assets for the offseason. Veteran, Nick Leddy will step up in his place and assume his role back in the top-four for the Islanders.
Youngster, Noah Dobson is expected to have a regular role as well for the first time in his career. He will be paired with Andy Greene, who was just re-signed, on the third pair.
Dobson isn’t the only exciting youngster. Ilya Sorokin has finally made his way over from the KHL and will suit up for the Islanders this year. Expect him to split time with Semyon Varlamov this year with Varly getting slightly more of the workload.
Projected Lineup
Lee – Barzal – Eberle
Beauvillier – Nelson – Bailey
Dal Colle – Pageau – Bellows

Pelech – Pulock
Leddy – Mayfield
