Rickard Rakell

Rickard Rakell is an interesting one because unlike the other two, he isn’t a rental. He has another year at a reasonable $3.79 million after this one but he’s been productive. He has 19 points (6 goals, 13 assists) in 29 games which is a pace of 54 points over a full season.

He’s still just 27 years old and has scored 30+ goals twice in his career so far out in Anaheim.

Rakell is not the same player Hall is but with an extra year on his deal I’d imagine it would cost around the same. Ideally, he can go to the third line to stabilize that line with JG Pageau and Oliver Wahlstrom when Lee returns. He’s a righty but can play on either wing, or you can bump Bailey down a line too if need be.

Lineup:

Bellows – Barzal – Eberle

Beauvillier – Nelson – Rakell

Bailey – Pageau – Wahlstrom

Martin – Cizikas – Clutterbuck

Again, this is dependent on Anders Lee and if he’d be able to come back at all this year. If he’s not able to come back, then it could be wise for the Islanders to pivot.
