Trade 3

A Salary swap? Is that possible for the Isles to dump off two contracts and then grab two different players? Well, I’m going to give it a go.

In this trade, the Isles are able to give two “win-now players” for St. Louis and in return get Tarasenko (with no cap relief) and Vince Dunn, who is an RFA. The rest of the moves are as followed:

IMG-4280-1
IMG-4280-1

The Isles lose youngster Kieffer Bellows in expansion and are able to dump off Andrew Ladd to the Coyotes by attaching a first-round pick in next year’s 2022 NHL Draft.

Lineup

Lee – Barzal – Tarasenko

Beauvillier – Nelson – Bailey

Komarov – Pageau – Wahlstrom

Martin – Cizikas – Clutterbuck

Pelech – Pulock

Dunn – Dobson

Salo – Mayfield

Varlamov/Sorokin

This leaves the Islanders with $2.3 million in cap space.
