The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 121 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.

This past week we saw the New York Islanders take on the Vegas Golden Knights, the Dallas Stars, and Tampa Bay Lightning. Over those games, the Isles went 2-1 with one really poor performance over the Stars.

We’ll start by talking about those games briefly and giving you some context from this week in Islanders’ land. Then, we’re going up to Bridgeport Connecticut.

Kieffer Bellows, who we were recently discussing as someone who is struggling, has turned it around. Bellows has found her gal scoring touch and we’ll chat about his trajectory as a prospect and if our perception has changed on him.

Staying in Bridgeport, we’ll talk about Koivula’s send down. He was only getting a few minutes per night and he’s better off getting more playing time in the AHL. We’ll also get into Brent Thompson and if he’s the right guy for the job.

At the deadline, what is Lou Lamoriello going to do? Do we think Lou is going big fish hunting or will he be more likely to get a depth piece?

Here’s what you can expect from Episode 121:

Topics

Games

The Islanders went 2-1 over their last three games this past week. We’ll talk about each game briefly to set the context of the episode.

Bellows finding his way

How Kieffer Bellows continues to avoid the “b-word” and how he may actually be saving his seasons with his most recent scoring streak.

Koivula needs to play

Otto Koivula got sent down, but it might actually be more beneficial for him to be sent down than to play just a couple minutes a night at the NHL level.

What will Lou do?

Do we really think Lou makes a trade or will he say pat again?

Quiz

Mitch will quiz me on someone who has either played 21 or 121 games as an Islander. I’m sure it’ll go very well…

Social

In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
