There are no more words to describe how much of a mess the New York Islanders season has turned into. First and most importantly, there are currently seven positive COVID cases on the team. We're not a math podcast but that's roughly 30 percent of the roster.

Also, both Ryan Pulock and Brock Nelson are hurt and are going to miss multiple weeks of the season. In the background of all of this, the Isles are currently riding a six game losing streak with no end in sight.

Oh, and the Islanders opened UBS Arena this past week. It'll be a busy episode for the 223rd edition of the Eyes on Isles Podcast. We're recording one day early because as of now, there is still a game that's supposed to be played on Wednesday. Here's what you can expect:

Topics

COVID and Injuries

We'll go through who has COVID, the impact of the Brock Nelson and Ryan Pulock injury, and what lineup changes they can make. We'll also discuss if the league should cancel games.

UBS Arena

In the middle of this hectic week, the Islanders opened their brand new building. Both Mitch and I were in attendance and we'll share our thoughts from what we saw.

Down on the Farm

Here is where Mitch takes over going over Islanders prospects from around the world. There's been a lot of movement this past week so expect a lot of updates on where guys are.

Quiz

On the quiz, Mitch will pick a random player in Islanders history and I have to try to guess who that player is based on five clues. It’s usually a blast.

Social

In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
