Islanders Podcast Preview: NHL Finally Shuts it Down
By Matt O'Leary
The Eyes on Isles podcast on a Monday? Yep, with the NHL shutting down the New York Islanders we didn't want to wait anymore. It took Gary Bettman and company until Casey Cizikas was added to the COVID list as apparently a week of COVID positive tests weren't enough for the league to step in.
Mitch and I will get into the league's decision to shut it down as well as the Islanders losses since the last time we spoke as the losing streak is now up to eight games.
Also, we are going to get into who the Islanders have missed the most during their losing streak. Obviously being down upwards of nine people between COVID and injuries to Ryan Pulock and Brock Nelson has been a massive reason for the step backwards over the last couple of weeks.
Mitch will also have some info on Islanders prospects for down on the farm and we'll get into what's trending on Isles Twitter. Here's what you can expect from episode 224:
The New York Islanders finally had their season shutdown for the time being with another COVID positive. We'll also get into who the Islanders have missed the most during this streak.
Picking off Canadiens
The Islanders desperately need some help on their roster. Can Lou Lamoriello take advantage of the Montreal Canadiens with their struggles?
Down on the Farm
Mitch will share his findings from prospects around the world.
On the quiz, Mitch will pick a random player in Islanders history and I have to try to guess who that player is based on five clues. It’s usually a blast.
In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
If you missed last week’s show you can catch up on it right here. Also, be sure to follow along with us on social media @EyesonIslesFS on Twitter and on Facebook as well.
