The New York Islanders road trip is finally over. After 13 games, the trip from hell is complete and we're here to cover it on the Eyes on Isles Podcast, episode 222. We'll start by going over the 5-6-2 road trip.
Sure it wasn't pretty, but it also could've been a lot worse all things considered. We'll get into what was the positive, what was the negative and now any injury news. We found out Ryan Pulock is nursing a lower body injury while Josh Bailey tested positive for COVID.
With UBS Arena opening on Saturday, and the anticipation growing we'll discuss the meaning behind it and how the team can maximize its upcoming home stand. It hasn't been a good start to the season but we know how this team usually plays at home compared to on the road.
Lastly, Mitch will have his updates for prospects around the world. Here's what you can expect from episode 222:
The Road Trip
A 5-6-2 road trip isn't awful but it certainly wasn't great. Mitch and I will get into the details of what needs to change now that they've come home. Also, we will get into the Ryan Pulock and Josh Bailey news.
UBS Arena opens on Saturday. We will discuss why it's important that the Isles can now get into their home games and just how excited we are to get into the building to see it for ourselves.
Down on the Farm
Mitch will share his findings this week from prospects near and far. This one is usually fun and it turns into some Autu Raty love very quickly.
On the quiz, Mitch will pick a random player in Islanders history and I have to try to guess who that player is based on five clues. It’s usually a blast.
In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
