Mike Reilly has had his share of ups and downs throughout his NHL career. After being drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the fourth round of the 2011 Draft, Reilly eventually hit the NHL ice with the Minnesota Wild in 2015.
Since then, Reilly has bounced around. He’s made stops in Montreal, Ottawa, Boston, and Florida. Perhaps the lowest point in his career came when the Panthers placed him on waivers last season.
But the New York Islanders rightfully saw an opportunity. With injuries decimating the Isles’ blue line, Reilly stepped in and made a name for himself.
Last season, Reilly played in 59 games, registering 24 points from the bottom pairing. That sort of contribution led the club to sign Reilly to a one-year deal this offseason.
With that in mind, Reilly will be looking to find a permanent home on The Island. That’s why it’s worth looking into Mike Reilly’s plus and minus sides with the Isles.
