The New York Islanders take to the road for the first time this season when they visit the Chicago Blackhawks tonight and the Nashville Predators tomorrow.
Stay tuned to Eyes On Isles for your pre-game report including the answer to the question fans have clamored for all week-long: Just who sits in favor of the return of Cal Clutterbuck to the lineup?
We are so appreciative of all the support we have received since beginning this venture. So much so that we are sponsoring our own contest. That’s right, the prizes are coming right out of own pockets! And you, the reader, can reap the benefits.
I speak for the entire staff when I say covering this hockey team has been a dream come true. And the New York Islanders organization and public relations staff have been nothing short of sensational in how they have treated us with exclusive access into the blog box this season.
We plan on continuing to bring you the best Islanders coverage we possibly can from a realistic, integrity driven philosophy that speaks to the play on the ice and the wonderful players performing for us each game.
We realize it is not going to be all ups on this journey throughout the 2013-14 full slate of games and will ride out the low moments as graciously as we praise the high ones.
With that being said, let’s get to the rules of our contest, which will be three separate entities and have three separate prizes for the winner(s)….
CONTEST #1 (New York Islanders Hat)
We are looking to drive commentary towards our written articles, whether they are opinion/editorials or pre and post games. We truly feel the best way to drive camaraderie among the fans is to interact on the site itself. The disqus commenting system is easy to sign up for and even easier to use. There are even a multitude of ways you can create an account for which to comment.
Official Rules : Each comment on an article garners one (1) entry into our contest. The more you comment, the more entries you earn. When the date is reached signaling the end of the contest, the entries will be thrown into a random drawing to decide the winner. Minimum 25 entries for winner to be chosen.
Contest End Date: Saturday, February 1, 2014
Prize: Islanders hat of your choice from official NHL shop ($23.95 value)
CONTEST #2 (New York Islanders T-Shirt)
Official Rules : This will be in the style of the old game show ‘The Price is Right’. All entries must be submitted to eyesonisles@gmail.com (which is also the place to leave questions to be answered on our podcast show, thedumpandchasepodcast.com) with the subject line : CONTEST ENTRY FORM. Minimum 25 entries for winner to be chosen.
The closest without going over on the below :
John Tavares points
Michael Grabner goals
Evgeni Nabokov wins
Contest End Date : Sunday, February 9, 2014
Prize : Islanders T-shirt of your choice from official NHL shop ($21.95 value)
CONTEST #3 (New York Islanders Tickets)
This is the big one and to win, you must show your dedication to not only the Islanders but to Eyes On Isles as well and help us push our message out there to all fans about our website, podcast and everything else relating to the site.
Official Rules : You must have yourself photographed in public; either at an Islanders game, in the parking lot prior on game day or any other venue brandishing a self advertisement to visit EyesOnIsles.com. The more creative you get, the better your chances of winning.
At the end of the contest, the senior staff of Eyes On Isles (editor Andy Graziano, copy editor Rich Dias and senior staff writer Mike Willhoft) will choose the winner. Minimum 25 entries needed for winner to be chosen.
Contest End Date : Wednesday, January 1, 2014
Prize : (2) upper deck tickets to Islanders game of your choice (excluding 1/23 vs Pittsburgh and 1/29 vs NY Rangers)
We hope you will enjoy partaking in our contests and even more so, we are excited to see your Islanders and Eyes On Isles pride!
