The New York Islanders moved Ryan Strome in a deal for Jordan Eberle. Although it’s a good move it’s tough to say goodbye to Strome.

Don’t get me wrong I love the trade. I would give up Ryan Strome for Jordan Eberle every time without question. It’s just always tough to move on from a player that you’ve had in your system since 2011. So with the trade we are going to take a look back at Strome’s best moments in a New York Islanders uniform:

Number 5: Insane Goal At Prospect Camp

Yeah I know it’s not in a real game but still that goal is absolutely nuts. I love those skill competitions and that was one of the first times we got to see Strome and it will be a lasting memory of course. No one can question, the kid is talented.

Number 4: First NHL Goal

Sorry, this was the only video I found of it. I don’t think this guy has a future in a broadcasting career but his reaction gave me a good laugh. This was Strome’s first of 45 goals as an Islander. His first two years with the team were more promising than the last two. But in the pre-Bridgeport punishment days Strome was pretty dynamic. Thanks Cappy!

Number 3: Game 2 Goal vs Capitals

The Islanders ended up losing this game but at the time it was a big goal. It gave them a two goal lead in period two and it looked (at the time) like they were on the verge of going up 2-0 on the Caps. Strome’s second career playoff goal came at a good time, unfortunately the Capitals came storming back and took that game to tie the series.

Number 2: Game 1 Goal vs Panthers

This ended up being the game winning goal of that wild first game. It gave the Islanders a 5-3 lead but the game as we remember ended by a score of 5-4. After such a rough year it was good to see Strome find the net. He actually put up half decent numbers in the playoffs despite a 28 point season for him.

Number 1: Game 1 vs Capitals

Another game winning goal for Ryan Strome. His first playoff goal in his first career NHL playoff game, have a day kid! This will be my lasting moment for Ryan Strome it propelled the Islanders to a big Game 1 win in a series that they should’ve won.

Next: Isles Land Jordan Eberle

Between the Bridgeport punishment and being Jack Capuao’s scapegoat it was a pretty wild tenure for him with the Islanders. Again, we wish him the best but it’s time to welcome in Jordan Eberle!
