The New York Islanders fanbase is a passionate one, so it is nice to see the loyal fans get rewarded. On Saturday, Jon Ledecky made time for the fans, as he rode the train to the game with the blue and orange faithful.
Jon Ledecky is one of the happiest owners the New York Islanders have ever had. Whether he is talking to fans, in his press box, or making a media appearance, he always has a smile on his face. He is passionate about the Islanders and their fanbase, and that passion was put on display today as Ledecky rode the train with fans to the Islanders game against the San Jose Sharks.
All Aboard!
Ledecky was walking around a train car talking to fans before the game. He was talking about the New York Islanders’ history, their drive for five Stanley Cups, and the upcoming game.
When he met a fan who witnessed the Islanders’ first Stanley Cup, Ledecky hit it off with her and even offered to let her walk into the game with him. It’s acts like these that are priceless for fans of any age.
Ledecky reignited her love for the Islanders, using his powers as an owner to treat her to his first game at Barclays Center. It is great to see Ledecky talking with his fans and not taking them for granted. He really wants to create a more passionate fanbase and does this by making time for those that love the team the most.

Always A Pleasure to Talk To
Personally, when I have spoken to John Ledecky, he has been an amazing person to talk to. When I saw him after a game, he thanked me for coming and asked if I enjoyed myself.
I was with my friend (who was wearing a Rangers jersey) and he asked how he could turn him to a New York Islanders fan. Sarcastically, I replied “trade for Dan Girardi.”
He said he tried to sign him this offseason and that he will look to acquire him in the future. Does he mean it? Maybe not. But it was a great thing to say and it made us feel like our input actually mattered.
Jon Ledecky is a stand-up guy, and it is nice to see him doing everything he can to show Isles fans that they matter.
