The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 24 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.
This week we’re going to be doing our New York Islanders podcast a little differently. As most of you know, we’re doing it live from the South Hempstead Fire Department on Friday, February 2, 2018, at 7:00 pm.
Admission is free, there is free food and drink (donations accepted) and there will be prizes, game, and raffles in addition to the live show.
The reason we’re doing this is to raise money for America’s VetDogs, a charity the Islanders have worked closely with. Here’s what you can expect for the live show on Friday:
Introductions
What we’re going to do today, the format of the special live show, talk about our sponsors and donations.
Game 1: Care Much?
This is an interactive game with the crowd. You’ll have the opportunity to say how much you care about a topic we raise up and we’ll talk about it.
Short Topic
Last three games: VGK, FLA, TOR
Game 2: Is This Canadian?
Mitch is from the great white north. He’ll inform us on some of the things that us American’s probably don’t realize are real things.
Nassau Coliseum “Move”
Game 2: Long Island
Long Island names are hard to pronounce for outsiders. We’re going to give Mitch the business and have him read some of Long Island’s famously difficult town names.
Guest: Tim Ryder
Tim Ryder, one of our writers, has an interesting take he wants to share, we’ll debate whether or not that’s fair.
Game 3: Roster Game
How good are you at remembering rosters? We’ll test your knowledge on naming same players from specific years.
Long Topic
The Islanders have some pending UFA’s who should be back? What kind of contracts should they get? Etc.
At the end of the night, we will pull the raffle tickets and announce how much we raised for America’s VetDogs.
Raffles Include:
Islanders tickets to February 13th’s game
“Canadian gift basket”
Candy basket
“Doggy Basket”
“Alcohol Basket”
Ridin Pine Show basket
Lotto Basket
The 50/50 raffle
Come hang out with us for a good cause. If you missed last week’s show you can catch that right here. As always toss us a follow on twitter and like our facebook page for your favorite Islanders content.
