The New York Islanders shot their annual Pucks and Paws calendar and of course, the pictures from the shoot came out fantastic.

It’s the best day of the year! No, it’s not opening night, it’s not the trade deadline, nor is it free agency. So how could a day at the end of October be the best day of the year in the hockey world? Well, the New York Islanders spent this day shooting their annual Pucks and Paws calendar.

The Islanders have worked very closely with America’s VetDogs the past few years raising money for them. They have players put on their jerseys and they take photos with the dogs who are in training.

The New York Islanders and puppies, what could possibly be better? The calendar is a big hit every year for obvious reasons and the day when they release all the behind the scenes pictures from it is my favorite day each year.

The players seem to enjoy it, and it’s for an extremely good cause.

It’s a charity that we here at Eyes on Isles hold close to our hearts. This past February, when we did our live podcast, we chose this charity to raise money for. Working with them was extremely easy, and they were more than helpful guiding us, a small event, and making it something important.

I’ll never forget that. It meant so much to us and it was fantastic to see Islanders fans come out for a good cause that night. So, without further ado let’s look at this video of some Islanders with puppies!

Editorials: Give Barzal help on defense

The New York Islanders might have one of the best youngsters in the NHL at the moment in Mathew Barzal, but they can’t bank on just him to pull them out of irrelevancy.
