The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 72 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.

Happy New Year! The Eyes on Isles Podcast is back and ready to talk all things New York Islanders from this past week of hockey. It’s been a fun stretch, as the Islanders are winners of seven of their last eight games.

The biggest storyline from this past week is going up against John Tavares. The Islanders dominated in what was an emotional game for the Isles and their fans. In that game, and pretty much since Vegas, Mathew Barzal is on fire.

In the last five games, Barzal has nine points (6 goals, 3 assists). Barzal is finding the back of the net a ton, and he’s back on pace for over 20 goals this year after a slow start.

Barzal isn’t the only kid producing. The Isles are getting something out of Josh Ho-Sang, Devon Toews and now Michael Dal Colle too. Each of them has a specific role on the team and are playing it perfectly.

Also, since the Islanders are now very much alive in the playoff mix, should the trade market begin to open up and are they, buyers or sellers?

Here’s what to expect from Episode 72:
