The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 75 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.

The New York Islanders head into the All-Star break in first place in the Metropolitan Division. A sentence not even the most optimistic of Islanders fans could have believed to be true before the start of the season.

After a win over the Washington Capitals, Barry Trotz’s former team, the Isles overtook possession of first in their recent surge. While this is a surprise, it also means that their competitive window is opened even earlier than expected.

With the cap space and pipeline that’s in place, this should be only the beginning for the Islanders. Speaking of prospects, this past week, Michael Dal Colle also netted his first career NHL goal. It was a long road for him to get there but he’s found himself a role on this team.

This year had a ton of question marks heading into the season. The Isles have since answered a lot of those questions and mostly in positive fashion.
