The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 85 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.

The New York Islanders are back in the playoffs! This past weekend the Islanders clinched their fourth playoff berth in the last seven seasons. Being able to celebrate this improbable season on home ice was the perfect reward for the fans this week.

The Isles also lost another player to injury this week. Tanner Fritz, who was filling in as the third line center, is out 6-8 weeks with a blood clot. Nobody was called up as a result so it appears that they are going to ride out Tom Kuhnhackl on the third line.

Both Anthony Beauvillier and Jordan Eberle have appeared to wake up from their slumber. This couldn’t have happened at a better time with just two regular season games left, the Isles hope to ride that momentum into the playoffs.

This week, the Islanders agreed to terms on an ELC with Oliver Wahlstrom. It appears that Wahlstrom will play in Bridgeport until he proves that he is ready for the NHL which might not be as long as some think.

Here’s what you can expect from episode 85:
