The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 88 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.
Another week has gone by and the New York Islanders are still not playing hockey. They will wait to see whether they take on the Washington Capitals in D.C. on Friday or if they will host the Carolina Hurricanes at the Barclays Center on Friday.
The rest should be good for the Isles, who got a little banged up in the first round of the playoffs. Johnny Boychuk is injured, he’ll be out for 3-4 weeks, so the Isles will likely see the return of Thomas Hickey.
As for the Islanders AHL affiliate, they too are in the playoffs. After three games they’re down 2-1 but we’ll give you a quick update on the Sound Tigers in their series against the Hershey Bears.
It’s been a pretty magical year for the Islanders, as a result, there are a few guys up for awards. The one we’ll hit on the most is likely Robin Lehner as he is up for the Masterton and Vezina in his comeback season.
Here’s what to expect from episode 88:
