The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 89 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.
This series has gotten off to a much different start as the first one against the Penguins. The New York Islanders find themselves in an 0-2 hole after the first two games in Brooklyn. Now, they head to Carolina with hopes of saving the series.
In the first two games, the Islanders looked to be the better team they just couldn’t find the net. In Game 1 Petr Mrazek stole the show, in Game 2 it was the Islanders inability to get pucks to the back of the net.
What’s the reason for the Islanders struggles? Is it fair to blame the referees and the ice or is it something that they are doing that’s not going well?
Looking at the on-ice performance some players haven’t been up to par. The defense and goalies have looked great, while the forwards have struggled mightily in this series.
As for the AHL, the Sound Tigers series came to a close. We’ll look at some of their guys and what the kids were able to do in their playoff experience.
